The California Department of Social Services has determined that an individual cannot work for or be present in any community care facility unless they submit to a criminal background check through an authorized LiveScan Operator.  These scans are then submitted electronically with results released only to the requesting agency/employer.

The CA IVR system allows an agency to track the progress of each request by calling (916)227-2300 and entering the unique ATI number and date of birth of the applicant.
